Often, there are ingredients that most can’t even pronounce or know about without having to Google it. You’ll feel a lot better for feeding your family these – as they say, knowledge is power!
These are lower in fat and perfect for a weekend breakfast or brunch for children and adults, alike.
Why should you make these puff pasty croissants?
Get ready to revolutionize your kitchen with puff pastry croissants! Imagine biting into a croissant that’s delightfully crispy on the outside, yet melts in your mouth with its soft, buttery inside. That’s the magic of using puff pastry! The secret lies in the layers of butter and dough that, when baked, create a steamy love affair resulting in a pastry that puffs up into thin, flaky layers. And the best part? It’s a real time-saver! Say goodbye to the traditional, labour-intensive process of making croissant dough. With puff pastry, you’re not just baking, you’re creating culinary joy with every light, flaky bite. So why wait? Let’s get baking with puff pastry and elevate your croissants to the next level!
What does it taste like?
Warm, buttery, flaky, chocolatey goodness! Quite simply put: OH MY YUM. You’ll have to restrain yourself from devouring the batch before serving these for breakfast for your family.

What should you serve this with?
With a cup of coffee, tea or any other warm beverage you consume for breakfast. You can even serve this as as part of a weekend brunch spread. They’re best served warm because of the butter in the puff pastry and the melted gooey chocolate in the middle.
How should I store leftovers?
I’ll be hard pressed to believe you will have any leftovers! My family asked me to whip up another batch (but I ran out of ingredients – insert *sad face*). However, on the off chance you have any leftovers, these store for up to the next day. Ensure you put these in a airtight container and pop these in the top part of your fridge. The next day, pop these in the oven to reheat these and then enjoy. These taste better when served fresh.
These photos show how easy it really is to make these croissants.
The best bit, apart from devouring them, is watching the croissants rise and brown while baking them.
What ingredients will you need?

20 Minute Chocolate Croissants – So Easy!
Equipment
- 1 Baking tray
- 1 Knife
- 1 Aluminium foil or baking paper
- 1 Egg wash brush
- 1 Small bowl
- 1 Fork
- 1 Sieve
Materials
- 1 sheet Puff pastry sheet – shop bought
- 50 grams Chocolate (you can use any chocolate you like)
- 1 small Egg (room temperature)
- 1 tbsp Icing sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to gas mark 4 which is 177 degrees Celsius (°C) and 350 degrees Fahrenheit (°F)
- Roll out your shop bought puff pasty as per photo 2.
- Cut triangles using your knife as per photo 3 and break up your chocolate into chunks using your hands and place at near the wider part of each triangle. Cut a tiny slit at the bottom of each triangle. This will help you to pick up the puff pastry for rolling.
- Roll each triangle into a roll.
- Place each croissant onto a lined baking tray. Crack open your egg in a bowl and whisk using your fork. Do a light egg wash using your brush on top of each croissant and then pop the tray into the oven.
- Bake for 15 mins, remove, let the croissants cook down for 2 mins.

Notes
- The egg wash gives the croissants a golden colour when baked.
- The icing sugar gives a lovely hint of sweetness to the pastry.
