Healthy Chocolate, Peanut Butter & Banana Toastie

Equipment

  • 1 pan or sandwich press/toastie maker

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices wholemeal bread
  • 80 grams chocolate (preferably dark, 80% or more)
  • 2 medium ripe bananas
  • 4 tbsp peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)

Instructions
 

  • Lay out the bread slices in twos (the top and bottom of the toastie). One one slice, spread 1 table spoon of peanut butter.
  • Mash your bananas in a bowl with a fork and then spread equal portions over the peanut butter topped slices of bread.
  • Break up the chocolate into small pieces and place on top of the mashed banana, in equal portions between each toastie. Top with the plain slice of bread to form a sandwich.
  • If you have a toastie/sandwich maker, use this for 5 mins to heat up each of the sandwiches to form a toastie. Alternatively, use a pan and heat up each side until golden brown. The heat will melt the chocolate in the middle to make it nice and gooey. Cut each toastie in half, serve and enjoy!
